Reed’s early career in Hollywood began with small roles in films such as "The Get-Away" (1941) and "The Courtship of Andy Hardy" (1942).
Her talent and beauty quickly caught the attention of casting directors, and she soon landed more substantial roles.
In 1946, Reed starred opposite James Stewart in Frank Capra's classic "It's a Wonderful Life," playing Mary Hatch, the loving and supportive wife of Stewart’s character, George Bailey.
